Bedfordview is a small town just east of Johannesburg. It is mainly a residential area but has a lot of small businesses and shopping centres. Eastgate mall and Bedford Gardens being the largest.  Eastgate mall was once the largest in the country.

Due to it being a large residential area there are a lot of restaurants in Bedfordview. The area was originally a large farm and was slowly sub divided into smaller farms and small holdings; this has left the area with a lot of properties being on large pieces of ground and a lot of larger houses.
